History
Cyndi Oubre (LYNN OUBRE'S Daughter) and Steven Frawley have been the owners and operators of Oubre Memorials & Burial Vaults since 2012. LYNN OUBRE brought us into the company in 2001 in order to take over and run the company for his inevitable retirement one day.
"Oubre Memorials and Burial Vaults was established in 1977 by Lynward “Lynn” Oubre in New Iberia, Louisiana with a $1,000 loan from his parents, Lynn launched a namesake business specializing in tombstones and memorials from a converted metal shack on a half-acre tract of land located at 806 W. Washington St. Lynn’s love of the business was instilled in him at the tender age of 10 by his father Charles “Crip” Oubre. Crip showed his young son how to pour concrete tombs and fabricate holy crosses with inscriptions. These items were then placed in the cemetery in Loreauville, Louisiana, that was located across the street from their family home."
In the early years, creating monuments and inscriptions was a slow and arduous process, Lynn, being the progressive businessman that he was, became the first in the state of Louisiana to use computerized drawings. He used these drawings to create superior memorials that will stand against the ravages of time, thus providing a lasting tribute to loved ones.
